Today's agreement offers customers a single point of purchase, contact and accountability for Solaris 10 on x86 subscriptions with support from HP Technology Services on certified HP ProLiant servers. As a result:
- Customers can rely on HP to offer full accountability for any event that occurs with Solaris 10 on certified ProLiant x86 platforms - unlike other server vendors who must pass the call on to Sun support.
- The entire Solaris 10 operating environment (ProLiant x86 servers, software, storage, subscriptions, support, and services) can be conveniently purchased from HP leading to faster and better business outcomes.
- HP will own end to end issue resolution for the entire operating environment providing customers with greater confidence and ability to better manage risk.
- By standardising on a single vendor, infrastructure management is easier enabling customers to simplify tasks and lower costs
