HP Care Pack services with Defective Media Retention

HP are pleased to announce the introduction of HP Care Pack services with Defective Media Retention (DMR). DMR allows customers to keep their data safe and secure by maintaining control over defective storage disks. DMR can be sold as either as an Enterprise or Commercial HP Care Pack. It will also continue to be available via contract. All HP Care Pack Services that provide hardware support on hard disk based systems now have a version which includes DMR. 

What is Defective Media Retention? 
DMR allows customers to keep their data safe and secure by maintaining control over defective storage disks.

How does it work?
DMR lets customers keep and control their disks and their data. If a disk that is covered by the retention option malfunctions, the customer calls HP for support. An HP support agent will diagnose the system problem, dispatch an engineer (if needed) and provide a replacement disk. The customer will then retain the defective disk drive.
